Following a tense moment on I’m A Celebrity on Thursday night, Ant McPartlin was quizzed about his reaction to Dean McCullough’s latest trial mishap. Viewers noticed that Ant appeared “seething” during the episode, and he admitted that he was indeed frustrated with the campmate – and couldn’t hide it. However, Ant quickly confessed that he “wasn’t happy” with his own reaction, which was evident in the episode, even though Dean did retaliate.
Labelling his behaviour as “unprofessional”, Ant pledged to be “kinder” to Dean in the future while justifying his anger over the recent trial drama. He even asked Sam Thompson not to bring up Dean, having made this request before they went live. But when the topic of Dean came up again, it wasn’t long before Ant was questioned about the clear anger visible on his face during the task.
In the most recent task, Dean managed to secure four stars, but he quit the trial early, just like he had done two days prior. After failing to win any stars with GK Barry, Dean struggled once more and pleaded for the trial to be stopped.
Ant was visibly annoyed and didn’t hesitate to grill Dean about his decision to abandon the trial over some fish guts. Sam seemed equally upset about this on the spin-off series Unpacked, where Ant explained why he reacted the way he did, reports the Mirror. He said: “You just get to the point where you think what are you doing?”
Ant McPartlin, who was jokingly referred to as the “bad cop” by host Joel Dommett, laughed off the comment but admitted he wasn’t pleased with his own behaviour. He exclaimed: “Oh my God,” in reference to the fish guts, before telling Sam: “I told you not to talk to me about it Sam.”
Ant confessed that his annoyance had been visible on screen and labelled it unprofessional, vowing to be kinder in the next trial. Dean is set to face another one alongside Danny Jones, meaning Ant will have another encounter with him. Dec also expressed his anticipation for the upcoming trial, praising Danny’s determination and enthusiasm.
Fans took to social media during the show to discuss Ant’s reaction, with one viewer posting: “Ant has had enough of Dean,” while another commented: “Ant is so fed up.” A third fan observed: “Ant looks SEETHING and I feel it. Dean is not in the least bit entertaining,” and a fourth added: “You can tell Ant is so sick of Dean doing these trials already.”
