This Christmas, two supermarkets are offering giant tins of the much-adored Quality Street chocolates at a price that undercuts both Amazon and B&M.
The limited edition retro-style tins, a festive favourite, weigh in at 813g, over 200g heavier than the standard 600g plastic tubs.
While these typically retail for around £12, or £10 at budget retailer B&M, Asda and Sainsbury’s have them on offer for just £8. However, to secure this deal at Sainsbury’s, you’ll need a Nectar card. This equates to 98p per 100g, which is significantly cheaper than Amazon’s tin, currently priced at £17.99.
We’ve delved into the contents of the giant tin to give you an idea of what to expect, reports the Manchester Evening News. In total, there are 89 chocolates spanning 11 different varieties, including all-time favourites such as Fudge and the iconic Green Triangle.

Perhaps controversially, the Orange Cremes outnumber the rest, with a dozen nestled within the tin. Next up are the Coconut Eclair, Toffee Penny and Strawberry Delight, each represented by 10 pieces, followed by the Toffee Finger and Fudge, with nine of each.
Fans of the Caramel Swirl will be pleased to find seven of these, matched by seven of The Purple One. From here, the numbers begin to taper off, with six Orange Chocolate Crunch, five Milk Choc Blocks and a mere four of The Green Triangle.
Here’s the breakdown:

Quality Street shifted from traditional tins and plastic containers to the introduction of a cardboard tub. This follows the implementation of paper wrappers for all twist-wrapped chocolates in 2022, with The Green Triangle remaining the sole exception due to its distinctive shape, still wrapped in foil.
This ‘first of its kind’ Quality Street packaging is currently being tested in a mere 60 Tesco outlets, with 200,000 units available this holiday season. The team behind this innovative product are eager to gauge ‘what Quality Street fans make of the paper tub’, which will inform their future steps towards reducing plastic usage.
