B.G. has revealed Birdman didn’t actually fall asleep on stage during the Hot Boys performance at a recent show.
In an interview with XXL, B.G. explained that despite people thinking Birdman took a snooze in the middle of the performance, the Cash Money Records co-founder was actually reading a teleprompter. According to B.G., whoever took the viral video earlier this month shot it from a bad angle and made Birdman look like he was falling asleep.
“He was just reading the teleprompter, ya heard me? They just got him on a bad angle, and we had a good laugh about it for a week. All of us laughed, josted off each other, josted off him because we thought it was funny,” said B.G at around the 22-minute mark in the video above. “But it just really reminded me that the internet is really undefeated. Stunna ain’t never did no hard drugs. He always been strictly about the bag.”
After the round of jokes wore off on social media, fans were concerned about Birdman’s health. In the video, he appeared to be sound asleep for over 15 seconds. Upon closer review, though, Birdman can be seen slightly moving to the song playing in the background and pointing at something on the stage.
Turk had also commented on Birdman’s alleged nap in an interview with Atlanta radio host B High ATL, where he too said the interview would flip whatever it could to make a story go off.
“They gonna always turn something into something that ain’t, you know what I’m saying? We have different little moments where we have to look down and see what’s going on,” said Turk. “Baby don’t give a fuck. Baby come right back out there the next day and talk some shit again. See, they put what they want to put out there. He came and he talked, and he talked his shit again the next show.”
Earlier this week, Dreamville Festival announced their lineup for April 5 and April 6. On Saturday, Lil Wayne, Hot Boys, and the Big Tymers are set to headline.
