The much-anticipated finale of Strictly Come Dancing is set to take place on Saturday evening (December 14), where one lucky celebrity will be crowned the winner and lift the coveted glitterball trophy. The grand conclusion of the 22nd series will see the final four couples strut their stuff on the shiny dance floor for the last time, in a bid to wow the judges and viewers at home.
Eleven couples have already been eliminated from the competition, with Pete Wicks and Jowita Przysta being the most recent pair to say their goodbyes during the semi-final.
Judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood will be scoring the routines, but ultimately, it’s the public who will decide the winning couple through a live vote.
BBC Breakfast gave a sneak peek on Saturday morning about which celeb and professional dancer might clinch the win as they prepare for their final performances in the ballroom. A reporter revealed: “Chris McCausland is Strictly’s first blind contestant, and the comedian has emerged as bookmakers’ favourite to win.
“He and his professional partner Dianne Buswell will reprise their couple choice routine to the John Lennon classic Instant Karma, which went viral on social media.”
Chris and Dianne are currently leading the pack with the bookmakers, with the comedian standing at 1/12 to win the competition, according to comparison site Oddschecker, reports the Express.
The duo will face off against actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, JLS star JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, and former Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri and pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec on the dance floor.
JB and Lauren are currently second favourites to win with odds of 20/1, while Sarah and Vito are hot on their heels in third place with odds of 45/1.
Tasha and Aljaz, however, have seen their chances dip, with odds of 66/1 putting them in fourth place.
During the two-and-a-half hour Strictly final, each of the four couples will perform three routines: two dances from earlier in the series, and a brand new show dance.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.
