Beyond Paradise star Barbara Flynn has shared some hints about the upcoming finale of the hit BBC series. The second series of the Death in Paradise spin-off will conclude on Friday, 26 March, in a highly anticipated final episode.
Barbara, 75, who plays Anne Lloyd in Beyond Paradise, appeared on Morning Live to discuss the end of the second series and what fans could expect. She chatted to hosts Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton, explaining there is still a lot to come despite the series nearly being over.
“We’ve got to know the characters over the episodes of the second series and lots has happened,” Barbara said. “Anne, my character, has been on a journey of dating, online dating, which has been extraordinary with the help of a new character called Zoe.”
The actress added: “She helps Anne through this difficulty of all the technical stuff, which was enormous fun.”
Gethin went on to explain that in a clip he had seen before the interview, Zoe could be seen explaining what ‘ghosting’ is to Anne. Barbara laughed before going on to elaborate more about what’s in store for her character.
She said: “Was I talking over it? I’m so sorry if I was”, before adding: “Yes it was a journey for her, especially after the loss of her husband after so many years.”
Barbara went on to explain what the dating scene meant for Anne, before teasing: “In the last episode, things come to a bit of a head because, you know, there’s a wedding to plan and so there’s a lot to do and she throws herself into it.”
In the sixth and final instalment of Beyond Paradise series two, fans will see Humphrey and Martha’s highly anticipated wedding day finally arrive. The happy couple are slightly stunned by the lavish affair Anne has organised for them, which is far grander than either had hoped for.
However, Humphrey and Martha’s nuptials are soon disrupted. The Shipton Abbott team are faced with the theft of a valuable museum piece as well as a pair of cyber criminals before the wedding celebrations can really begin.
The bride and groom are both running around and so are the thieves, so it remains to be seen if Humphrey and Martha actually get to exchange vows. Guest stars in the episode include Jeff Rawle, Souad Faress and Georgia Mann.
Beyond Paradise continues at 8pm on BBC1 on Friday 26 April
