Britain’s Got Talent stars Sarukani impress judges as fans uncover star-studded past

Viewers of Britain’s Got Talent were left stunned as they were introduced to Japanese beatboxing group Sarukani during Saturday’s show, with many members of the audience stunned by the unique nature of the act.

The young group, aged 21 to 24, performed impressively on the talent show, earning rapturous applause from judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli, not to mention the audience present during the performance.

However, eagle-eyed fans of the show have since discovered the group’s significant achievements predating their BGT goals. Sarukani, it turns out, won the World Beatboxing Championships as recently as October last year. The group even announced their triumphant news via Instagram at the time, sharing: “WE’RE WORLD CHAMPION! ! ! ! ! ! THANK YOU SO MUCH! ! ! ! ! ! ! WE LOVE BEATBOX! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! @swissbeatbox @grand.beatbox.battle.”

In an end-of-year note addressed to their expansive Instagram fanbase reflecting on the stellar success of 2023, they expressed gratitude saying: “Thank you for all of your support this year, 2023! You’ve been so supportive to us and we’ve shared priceless experiences as a team. More than anything, this year we won the championship at the World Championship called ‘Grand Beatbox Battle 2023’,” reports the Mirror.

“I’m really happy that we can finally say that we’re the best crew in the world. I’m glad that we’ve met the expectations of everyone who’s been supporting us since the start until now, and I’m glad we’ve worked hard without giving up.”

They quipped: “This year, we have experienced unimaginable experiences since we started working, including performing at large festivals and making music. This is because everyone who listens to our music, comes to our shows and shares our posts on social media and comments. And next year, we will be working towards the goal of being recognised worldwide as the best beatbox crew in the world. Lots of exciting plans already in place until the end of next December.”

In addition, the group delighted audiences at GMO Sonic 2024, sharing the stage with other big names such as Zedd, Galantis, Black Eyed Peas and Kygo among others. Not just that, the group also embarked on their own tours in Japan, where they always took the time to snap photos with their legions of adoring fans, who flocked to venues to witness their performance.

Also, there are short video clips showing them intersecting paths with Steve Aoki, where they delivered a masterclass with a beatbox rendition of the track “Boneless”. Alongside a recording of their performance, they penned: “Thank you so much and we were honoured to meet you. We will do our best until the day we can produce music together. #SteveAoki #SARUKANI #Beatbox #GMOSONIC #GMOSONIC2024.”
