Celebs Go Dating introduces major shake-up following previous budget cuts

Celebs Go Dating is set to delight viewers and participants alike with a fabulous revamp this series, as the show brings back the beloved holiday finale!

After recent seasons saw the Channel 4 favourite tighten the budget and scrap lavish trips away, it seems the purse strings are being loosened once again. A source spilled to The Sun that “bosses really want to pull out all the stops for the upcoming series and the overseas trips had been really missed,” explaining that while cutting costs was necessary, the show lacked the sparkle without an international adventure.

Excitedly, they added, “It was a cost-saving thing in recent years but producers decided the show was missing the glamour of an exotic jaunt so they decided to bring it back for this year. The cast are thrilled and can’t wait to pack their bags.”

There are high hopes that season 14 will mirror the success of the previous one, which starred familiar faces like Helen Flanagan and Ella Morgan from Married at First Sight. With filming kicking off this month, the star-studded line-up remains a secret, though insiders claim there’s already a dream cast list in the works.

The Mirror reports Love Island’s Zara McDermott, fresh from her split with Sam Thompson, is reportedly in the sights of Celebs Go Dating producers for their 2025 series. An insider told The Sun: “Celebs Go Dating bosses are really keen to sign Zara up for the 2025 series – she’s a huge fan favourite and they think she’d be perfect for the show and have men lining up to date her.

“It might be too soon after the split with Sam but they think she’d see the real meaning behind the show, which is about stars looking at themselves and their dating patterns.”

Despite stiff competition from reality TV heavyweights like Married at First Sight UK and Love Island, Celebs Go Dating continues to create a buzz and dominate social media conversations.

It’s a major win for Channel 4, especially among younger audiences who increasingly consume content online. In fact, streaming now accounts for a whopping 40% of Channel 4’s 16-34 total viewer minutes, making it the youngest-skewing streamer among the commercial public service broadcasters.

The digital success story is bolstered by the latest series of Celebs Go Dating, which soared to become the second most-watched show on Channel 4 streaming in September, racking up an impressive 218 viewer minutes.
