There was a lot of excitement on Wednesday morning with the news that North East fish and chip legends Colmans will open up a new restaurant inside of Fenwick. And amid all the excitement over the partnership between two iconic North East businesses, the menu and opening date have now been officially confirmed.
For decades, Colmans has been a name synonymous with top tier fish and chips, with them receiving plenty of acclaim on both a local and national level, as people flock from miles around to see if their food lives up to the hype. Whether its at their original home on Shields’ famous Ocean Road or the plush surroundings of the Seafood Temple, right next to Sandhaven beach, Colmans’ award-winning dishes never fail to impress.
And there will soon be a new location to tuck in, as it’s just been announced that Colmans will open in Fenwick, with them becoming the latest in a growing line of regional favourites to move into the famous Newcastle city centre department store; following in the footsteps of the likes of Greggs, Barbour and, most recently, Blacks Corner.
News of Colmans’ imminent arrival at Fenwick sparked a huge reaction as soon as the cat was let out of the bag and now further details have been revealed, including the opening date and what will be on the menu.
After a launch night for VIP guests on March 19, Colmans’ Fenwick restaurant will officially open on Thursday, March 20 and even the smallest glance at its menu will give you food for thought.
