Coronation Street’s Sam Aston made an appearance on Friday’s episode of This Morning, ahead of the Dancing On Ice final. The 31 year old actor, who has been portraying Chesney Brown on the ITV soap since 2003, discussed his shoulder injury and was pleasantly surprised by a heartfelt message from his co-stars.
Sam is competing in the Dancing On Ice final alongside Anton Ferdinand and Michaela Strachan, with the trio appearing on Friday’s This Morning to chat about the ITV skating series. During the conversation, host Alison Hammond enquired: “How’s the shoulder, I know you dislocated it?” to which Sam replied: “It’s fine, yeah, yeah, everything’s good!”

This led to fellow host Dermot O’Leary to ask: “When you dislocate a shoulder, what happens?” to which Alison explained: “It comes out your socket, you have to put it back in!” with Dermot asking: “Do you have to put it back?” as Sam clarified: “No, we’ve got a really good physio, Sharon!”
Later in the interview, This Morning surprised the three Dancing On Ice finalists with sweet messages from their families and co-stars.
Sam received support from some of his Coronation Street co-stars as they all cheered: “Good luck, Sam!” to which Bernie Winter star Jane Hazlegrove added: “You’re brilliant, mate!” George Shuttleworth star Tony Maudsley chimed in: “We love you, we miss you!”, pointing out Sam’s changing room, he sweetly continued: “We’re keeping it warm for you!”.

As she concluded the message, Jane said: “We’re very proud of you” Then, in a humorous tone, they all chimed in: “Don’t fall over!”
Last month, it was reported that Sam suffered an injury during rehearsals when his shoulder dislocated and required assistance to be put back into place.
Since 2003, Sam has been a recognisable face on Coronation Street as Chesney Brown. Sam was the fourth celebrity confirmed for the latest series of Dancing on Ice. At the time, he said: “I’m nervous but excited to get going. “It’s going to be nice for the public to see me for me rather than Chesney.”, reports Leicestershire Live.

Earlier this week, Sam shared an Instagram post reflecting on his Dancing On Ice experience: “Heading into the last week feeling super grateful for the experience. And I just want to thank everyone that has got behind me and voted and supported me throughout.
“I feel incredibly lucky. If the show has taught me anything – it’s good to get out your comfort zone and really push yourself. Thanks @dancingonice it’s been a blast! Roll on the final.”
