An auction house will be hosting a Star Wars Extravaganza this week which is set to fetch sky-high prices for its mix of movie memorabilia.
Vectis Auctions in County Durham is expecting huge interest from fans of the epic franchise as it prepares for the epic Star Wars sale – its first to be assembled from a range of collections. The unique event follows on from an invitation to customers to send in the best of any Star Wars collections they might have – and Vectis says: “They did not disappoint!”
The result is 670 lots of highly sought-after vintage and modern Star Wars items – from a Luke Skywalker model to a replica lightsaber signed by Samuel L Jackson – which are expected to raise £75,000-£100,000 in total when they will go up for auction this Thursday at 10am. Fans will be able to make bids online.
The sale will include figures both on cards and loose as well as graded ones alongside play-sets, vehicles and creatures plus limited-edition busts, figures, dioramas and statues. The auction house says the sale is one not be missed by Star Wars fans.
Among the lots will be Palitoy vintage figures including Star Wars’ Han Solo and The Empire Strikes Back’s Luke Skywalker on back-cards which Vectis estimates could fetch £10,000-£12,000 each. A near-mint condition Master Replicas Star Wars Mace – a Windu Signature edition lightsaber signed by Samuel L Jackson – comes with an £800-£1,000 estimate while vintage figures of a Return of the Jedi Tri-logo Yak Face and a Kenner Star Wars vintage Jawa vinyl carry estimates of £1,500-£2,000 and£1,200-£1,500 respectively.
