Drake is currently in Australia for his Anita Max Win Tour, and he’s been getting warmed up for the string of shows by delivering an intimate karaoke performance in Melbourne.
As seen in videos circulating online, Drake has been rehearsing for the shows—which kick off on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in Perth—by delivering a laidback performance to a small crowd. Among the songs he performed for the crowd, accompanied by a backing track while sitting on a stool, were “Pipe Down,” “Faithful,” “Trust Issues,” and “Rich Baby Daddy.” If these are tracks that will appear on the setlist for his Australia and New Zealand tour, it seems fans will be in store for career-spanning shows.
Recently, Drake celebrated his arrival in Australia by sharing a video of him dancing to Fivio Foreign’s Plaqueboymax diss track, “Plaqueboymax.” The post was geo-tagged to Melbourne and was accompanied by the caption, “700k for lunch.” He’s clearly been living it up in Australia in the lead-up to the shows, which will see him performing in Oceania until Sunday, March 16 with a tour-closing show in Auckland.
Before departing for the tour, he shared a brief message with fans to let them know he’ll be back soon. “Love to all the 6’ers winter months are the toughest,” he wrote alongside a picture of Toronto’s CN Tower. “Shit can be depressing so take care of yourselves and try show love to each other. Be back in a flash $$$OON.”
