Drake is showing love to the “real ones.”
During a recent performance in Brisbane, Australia, the OVO rapper took the time to acknowledge all the support he’s received over the past year. He specifically shouted out his friends and collaborators who stayed by his side amid the Kendrick Lamar beef, suggesting others switched up when it seemed most of the hip-hop world had turned against him.
“I really do wanna say thank you again for what you’ve done for my life,” he said on stage at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. “For my family, for my friends, for all my collaborators, all the producers, all the other artists that I work with. You know, the ones that didn’t turn p****y — I mean, the ones that are still real, you know. My real ones. But yeah, I appreciate you because you’ve changed my life for me and everybody around me.”
The concert was part of Drake’s Anita Max Win Tour in Australia and New Zealand. The trek kicked off February 4 in Perth and was expected to conclude March 16 in Auckland. However, weeks before the final show, Drake pulled the plug on the remaining show dates. His rep confirmed the decision in a statement to Rolling Stone, citing an unspecified “scheduling conflict.”
“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” the statement read. “All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale… Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon.”
As of Thursday evening, Drake’s team has yet to announce new tour dates.
