A driver has suffered life-threatening injuries after a car and van collided in County Durham.
Emergency services were called to Broadgate Road, Ushaw Moor, on the junction with the B6302 on Thursday at around 9.20am. A Suzuki car and Mercedes van were involved in the crash, with the road closed for a number of hours.
The driver of the Suzuki was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary with life-threatening injuries. The van driver was uninjured.
A Durham Constabulary spokeswoman said: “Emergency services are currently on scene at a collision on Broadgate Road, Ushaw Moor, on the junction with the B6302. The incident was reported to police at around 9.20am on Thursday, April 25.
“A Suzuki car and Mercedes van are involved. The driver of the Suzuki has been taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the van is uninjured.”
Road closures are currently in place on Broadgate Road and the B6302 between Ushaw Moor and Esh Winning.
