Newcastle United return to Premier League action tomorrow night when they travel to Selhurst Park to face in-form Crystal Palace. Oliver Glasner has started to transform the Eagles, Sunday’s 5-2 victory over West Ham coming hot on the heels of their 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Eddie Howe’s men had been able to rest and recover since their 4-0 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur last time out, and the break may mean the United head coach has a few more players available to him. Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson are both thought to be close to a return, and we’ll get updates on the pair from Howe this morning.
Newcastle have six games in which to secure a European place, with Sheffield United at St James’ Park on Saturday and then trips to Burnley, Manchester United Brentford on the final day, plus a home game with Brighton. Howe could even have the likes of Joelinton and Nick Pope available before too long, which will be a huge boost for their top-six ambitions. We’ve got all the latest from the Magpies head coach coming right up.
