Emirates seeking cabin crew staff from Newcastle for travel to 76 countries

Emirates is set to host a recruitment event in Newcastle next week seeking candidates from the North East to join its cabin crew team.

The world’s largest international airline, based in Dubai, will host a cabin crew open day at the Maldron Hotel on Newgate Street in the city centre on Tuesday, April 23. Emirates list a tax-free salary, travel perks, furnished accommodation in Dubai, and “world-class” training among the benefits of being one of its staff members.

Successful applicants will join a growing team of 21,500 Emirates cabin crew members around the world, and their new job will see them travel to more than 130 cities in 76 countries. Emirates currently fly to around 80 destinations from Newcastle Airport, including many countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The Newcastle open day is the latest as part of a wider recruitment drive by Emirates to hire 5,000 new team members across six continents in 2024. The airline has invited fresh graduates with internships or part-time jobs, those with at least a year of hospitality or customer service experience, and individuals keen to embark on an exciting career travelling the globe to apply.

Emirates cabin crew are provided with hotel stays and layover expenses as part of their employment perks, while friends and family will also be treated to discounted flight tickets. The airline welcomed 8,000 new employees to their cabin crew team through recruitment days in 2023 as it ramped up its services post-pandemic, with the team hailing from more than 140 nationalities and speaking 130 languages between them.

Anyone hoping to join Emirates can walk into the open day with an up-to-date CV in English and a recent photograph, and are advised to pre-register online ahead of the event. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and at least 160cm tall, and have no visible tattoos while in Emirates uniform – you can check the full list of criteria on the Emirates website.
