Four in a Bed contestants had to ‘sleep in car’ as host ‘disappeared’

Four in a Bed viewers were left shocked when the guests were forced to sleep in their car on the latest instalment of the beloved reality show. The Channel 4 show sees B&B owners open their doors to other owners as they take turns staying with each other for a chance to be crowned the best hosts.

But in a recent episode, viewers were stunned when some of the participants chose to sleep in their car rather than bedding down in their accommodation. In the week’s final visit for the competitors, it was sisters Lesley and Sarah’s turn to host but after they went ‘missing’ due to illness, they couldn’t attend to their guests throughout their stay.

Instead, Sarah’s husband welcomed them and showed them to their rooms. All seemed to be fine with their rooms at first, but upon closer inspection things started to go downhill.

Mat and Helen were unhappy with the cleanliness of their room as they found earwigs in the sink and discovered the silicone on the flue repair caused smoking in the yurt. As well as a ‘cold’ breakfast which was an optional £8 extra.

In the end, they were given another room, however, the issues still weren’t resolved. Pulling back their covers on the bed, Helen said: “It feels damp.”

Mat added: “There’s dirt, hairs, there’s a stain. It’s just very dirty.” Not happy with their room, they decided to stay in their car instead of their pod.

They explained: “Everything felt damp. The mattress was dirty. We thought it was just easier to sleep in the car.”

The following day, Mat opened up about their decision, explaining: “The sleep was pretty poor, wasn’t it? We slept in the car, I think I got about 45 minutes all in all sleep-wise.”

When Lesley and Sarah received the couple’s feedback and low score of 3, they appeared visibly upset. Lesley expressed her disappointment, saying: “Gutted, I’m trying really hard not to cry actually. There’s obviously more people who don’t like glamping.”

Lesley continued: “Yes, there probably were earwigs in the sink, it’s glamping, it’s outdoors.”

Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to discuss the scoring. One shared: “At least there’s plenty of room in a Range Rover!”

Another added: “Wow these people are SO awfully critical.”

A third commented: “Kipped in the motor. Should have booked in the pub the numptys!”
