We’re five days into this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity and it looks like life in camp has been turned up a notch as the show’s stars turn on one another.
In last night’s episode (Thursday 21 November), Dean McCullough faced yet another Bushtucker trial, this time entering the Jungle’s ‘scientific research facility’.
The Radio 1 star was required to put his head in glass boxes and was joined by various creatures including snakes and cockroaches.
After only getting two stars and zero stars previously, Dean fared a tad better and got four stars before shouting out ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ and exiting the trial.
Fans at home took to Instagram to share their reactions and it looks like they think show host Ant McPartlin is “done” with Dean and is struggling to contain his frustration with him at the trial clearing.
One fan expressed on social media: “Ant seemed so p****d off,” while another person said: “No Dean is playing the game and Ant sees right through him. He could have finished the task. You are being suckered in.”
Somebody else penned: “Ant is ruthless this year and I’m loving every minute of it,” while yet another said: “Ant is sick of Dean.” A fifth commented: “Ant is so done with Dean,” while a sixth added: “Ant gives the impression he isn’t dean’s biggest fan.”
Before the trial began, Ant said: “Before we begin, I want to have a word with you,” to which Dean asked: “Why?”
He continued: “What happened yesterday? No stars. What happened the day before? You said I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.”
Feeling pumped for the challenge at hand, Dean said: “Oh it’s not good, but that’s why today I’m like, ready for it. Because we’re going to change the narrative.”
A sceptical Ant responded: “But you can only change the narrative by sticking with it and getting on with it.”
A nervous looking Dean added: “I feel like I’m being told off by Ant and Dec,” as Ant clarified, “Well just by me.”
Dec joked he was the “good cop” in this situation and wasn’t getting involved in Ant’s advice for Dean.
Despite only winning four stars in the trial, the BBC Radio 1 star headed back to camp feeling good about how many stars he had won as it was better than the day before.
I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked after the main show on ITV2.
