I’m A Celeb fans praise ‘iconic’ Maura Higgins as they declare ‘best episode in history’

I’m A Celebrity is heating up with the arrival of two brand new campmates in last night’s episode (Thursday 21 November).

Viewers saw Reverend Richard Coles and Love Island icon Maura Higgins make their debut on ITV1 show, after being heavily speculated that they would be taking part.

The pair settled into a separate camp away from the ten other celebrities and it looks like they’re living a life of luxury with a double bed, mini fridge, a bath and plenty of snacks.

However, they’ve been tasked with a secret mission which means they must convince they’re fellow campmates that they’re slumming it and living life on the rough side. If the two are successful in their challenge, they will win a huge buffet for the entire camp.

Fans are loving the two brand new campmates

They already managed to deceive Melvin Odoom as they were having a relaxing time in a challenge while he had nasty stuff thrown all over him.

Fans are already loving the duo and have particularly taken to Maura, as they flocked to Instagram to share their reactions. One excited viewer commented: “I’m loving Maura, she has a fun, bubbly personality and I don’t even watch Love Island.”

Another person wrote: “I don’t think I have laughed as much at this year’s I’m A Celebrity, Maura and Richard were brilliant!” Somebody else said: “I have never laughed so much in my life, poor Melvin, I can’t wait until they find out that Maura and Richard were living in luxury the whole time.”

Yet another gushed: “This is one of the best episodes in history, this episode was brilliant.” A fifth penned: “Maura is too funny, she’s going to win it,” while a sixth added: “Whoever is responsible for casting Maura Higgins, I hope all your wildest dreams come true – iconic!”

Maura shot to fame on the fifth series of Love Island back in 2019 and made it all the way to the final with then-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard. She continued her Love Island journey by becoming a social host behind the scenes of the US version last year.

This was followed by becoming the host of the spin-off show Love Island USA: Aftersun this year, where she interviews all of the dumped contestants.

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed by I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked after the main show on ITV2.
