BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty is a well-known face on British TV, but her husband, James Haggar, is also a big name in television.
While Naga has become a household name through her stellar journalism career and even dazzled us on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, James has been making waves behind the scenes as a television director and broadcast consultant.
The couple, who have been together since before Naga joined BBC Breakfast in 2008, are notoriously private about their personal life.
Here’s everything you need to know about the little-known TV boss…
James boasts an impressive resume in the television industry, having held the reins as a senior director at CNBC International for over ten years and later taking his talents to Sky, reports the Mirror.
His career also includes a stint as the senior director for Five News/OK TV and two years at ITV Studios, not to mention his current role on Sky News’ panel show The Pledge.
Naga has openly expressed her admiration for James’ progressive views, once penning in Glamour magazine: “My husband proudly declares himself a feminist, as do many of our friends, male and female I think it’s very hard not to.”
James and Naga were together for several years before they got married in 2007. Their first date was at a pool club as they are both fans of the sport.
Not only is Naga a familiar face on our screens, but she’s also a woman of many talents; she’s a dab hand at the piano and trumpet, boasts an impressive golf handicap of nine, and can hold her own at the pool table!
Opening up on the Her Spirit podcast, Naga gushed about her relationship: “James and I don’t row, and he’s a lovely, lovely man, he’s definitely the better half.”
The couple, who share a home in Hertfordshire, often enjoy hitting the golf course together.
In a heart-to-heart with The Guardian back in 2016, Naga revealed how golf plays a pivotal role in their marriage, saying, “It gives us a few hours together when we’re walking and talking and catching up; it really makes a difference.”
“Golf takes you on a journey together, and it means you stay in touch with one another.”
Despite not being big on Valentine’s Day celebrations, Naga recently admitted to BBC Radio 5 Live that the couple still shares sweet gestures, confessing, “Head rub! I gave a head rub yesterday and it was received with such gratitude!”
James and Naga don’t have any children together however, the pair are proud parents to two Siamese cats, Kinky and Ronnie.
