Love Island‘s Zara McDermott has given fans a sneak peek into her stunning £1m home, complete with a secret cinema room. She lives in her gorgeous London pad with her long-term boyfriend, Made in Chelsea star and king of the I’m A Celeb jungle, Sam Thompson.
The couple shared their home renovation journey with fans on a dedicated Instagram account titled @thethompsonproject. They are next door neighbours with Sam’s sister and fellow former MIC star, Louise Thompson, with residing with her fiance Ryan Libbey and their two year old son, Leo. Plus, the Thompson siblings’ mum lives just a stone’s throw away, on the road behind them.
Zara and Sam been adding the finishing touches to their homes in recent months, even running an Instagram account to showcase their stunning abodes. Zara, who also starred on Strictly Come Dancing, recently spent time away from home as she visited Ibiza to film her new BBC documentary, Secrets of the Party Island, which lands on iPlayer on Sunday, 21 April.
Let’s take a tour of her gorgeous west London property…
The living room
The duo have opted for a chic monochrome theme in their lounge, complete with statement art pieces adorning the walls, a plush rug and a cosy footstool. With an array of cushions scattered across the comfy-looking sofa, it’s the perfect spot to sink into after a long day.
The bathroom
Prepare to be wowed by this stunning bathroom, boasting light-up marble-effect surfaces and a spacious walk-in shower. There’s also a light-up vanity mirror, double sinks and a luxurious bathtub, ideal for unwinding with a relaxing soak.
Zara has even shared some of her favourite products with followers, including Aesop hand soap, OUAI haircare and Champneys bubble bath – pure bliss.
The garden
While the garden isn’t massive, they’ve made it a lovely outdoor space with the addition of faux grass, lush greenery surrounding, and a neutral patio to welcome guests.
Sam’s gaming den
Why are we not surprised that cheeky chappy Sam has a whole space for his gaming conquests?
Zara explained on Instagram: “Sam spends a lot of time in here which meant it was important to get this space feeling beautiful, and also masculine. We went for this incredible desktop from @bristol_concretestudio which was created bespoke for us.”
She added: “It feels so luxurious, heavy duty and gives a slight industrial feel. With the bronze inlay it fits perfectly with our switches and sockets, and also the antique bronze on the wall panels.”
The kitchen
The kitchen is the grandest part of their home, boasting a minimalistic vibe. An enormous island dominates the middle of the room, accompanied by various high stools. The cream-cabinet kitchen along with its stylish panelling exudes modern elegance.
One side of the room boasts a massive fridge/freezer and spacious cupboards, while the modern zig-zag wooden flooring adds a stylish touch, keeping the space open and serene.
The dining room
Zara and Sam have created a dining room sure to impress guests, featuring a generous dining table with six seats. Again, the pair have selected a very neutral colour scheme, creating a cosy feel in the room.
The highlights have to be the huge bronze mirror, which elevates the room and makes it seem even bigger, as well as the bauble-style ceiling lights.
Cinema room
A standout feature of the house is their plush cinema room. In one snap of the space, the couple geared up to watch Love Island, the show that catapulted Zara to fame in 2018.
Zara and Sam have transformed their basement into the ultimate chill-out zone, complete with a snug sofa, mood lighting and a chic coffee table.
