ITV Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon breaks down in tears as she recalls devastating miscarriage

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has bravely detailed her harrowing experience of having a miscarriage after the 28 year old actress and her partner, Ryan Ledson, suffered the tragic event in 2022. Just months after the initial loss, Lucy announced her second pregnancy, with the pair happily welcoming their son Sonny, nine months later.

Now, Lucy is slated to delve into her past ordeal on an upcoming episode of ITV’s Drama Queens, an intimate reality series which grants viewers behind the scenes peeks into soap stars lives away from the small screen. Ahead of this weeks episode, a heartbreaking clip featuring Lucy, famous for her role as Bethany Platt in Coronation Street, has been shared by the Sun.

In the preview, she tells viewers: “In the first year that me and Ryan were together I fell pregnant for the first time”, reports the Mirror.

Lucy openly admits they were “really excited,” before adding: “And we booked a scan and we … I feel like I’m gonna get upset.”

At this point, Lucy takes a moment to collect herself before going on to share that during the visit: “We went for the first scan and I didn’t expect that anything would be wrong and [the nurse] told us that there was no heartbeat. That the baby had died.”

The publication reveals that she’s seen in tears while celebrating Sonny’s birthday during the filming of Drama Queens. She reportedly mentions that due to the “harder times” they experienced before Sonny’s pregnancy, which was “filled with so much anxiety,” her family now feels “even more special” to her.

Although this will mark the first time Lucy has revisited the experience in so much detail on camera, the actress did previously share her experience of a miscarriage in an interview with OK! back in 2022 when she told us that she and partner Ryan had a private scan at seven weeks during her first pregnancy.

She recalled: “It was a traumatising, horrendous time. We went for a scan and they couldn’t see anything, so then we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something, so it was very up and down.”

The actress explained that she had pregnancy symptoms and was “feeling really unwell,” with her symptoms “getting worse” amid the scans. She said there were “no signs” that she’d had a miscarriage, which “made it more of a shock” when she was delivered the devastating news.

She continued by saying that the couple had “just assumed” that everything would “be fine”. However, Lucy revealed that after a week, following blood tests and other tests, she returned and was then told that she had miscarried.

Lucy, who was five months pregnant with Sonny at the time of the interview, confessed: “Even though so many people go through it, you never expect it will happen to you.”

She described it as a “really mentally challenging” experience.
