Jim Jones had several things to get off his chest on the newly released single “Jomo,” such as his ties to Harlem and his status within The Diplomats collective.
On Friday, Jones unleashed a three-pack EP that included the highly-anticipated “Jomo” record he teased a few weeks ago with lines fans believed were aimed at Cam’ron after the two recently engaged in a back-and-forth. The friction between the two started last year when Cam did an interview with 50 Cent and spoke about Jones performing with the Queens rap legend in 2007.
Jones told Cam to “get off his dick,” which led the latter to go in on him during an episode of It Is What It Is where he made claims about their friendship and how close they really are. On “Jomo,” Capo addresses all that he needs to, such as going over his track record in the streets, addressing his relationship with Cam, confirming Mase taught him how to rap, and more.
“Them n***as taught me how to rap and I went platinum / They didn’t think when I started rapping that I would lap ’em / Everybody know for Diplomats I was the captain,” Jim raps midway into the track. In the next few lines, Capo also addressed the commotion regarding where he was born and raised.
“Is he a Bronx, is he a Harlem n***a? / Fuck all that, tell me what’s the problem n***a / I’m too thorough, I move thorough, my crew thorough / Really answer your questions, I’m a legend in two boroughs,” Jim raps.
The Jomo three-pack also comes with “This Sh!t Still in Harlem” featuring SUZI and the official remix with verses from Juelz Santana, Vado, and Dave East. Check it out below.
Beef between Dipset members is nothing new. Earlier this month, Complex broke down the group’s history of drama, which you can read here.
