Newcastle United fans will be understandably focused on which new names will come into the squad in what will be a crucial summer transfer window for the club.
But for Eddie Howe and his staff, which players leave could be just as important if they are to get the balance right for the 2024-25 campaign. Much of 2024 has already been spent speculating on the futures of some of the top names at the club, after Howe and CEO Darren Eales admitted that they may have to sell one of their prize assets in order to reinvest in the market.
Since then, players such as Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes have been linked with big-money moves away, although the Magpies appear confident of holding on to their best players while strengthening the squad in the coming months.

Keeping their powder dry in the January window certainly helped, but the fact is Newcastle will have to trim their squad to accomodate any new players, never mind help fund their purchases. While players such as Ryan Fraser and Isaac Hayden are already surplus to requirements, decisions need to be made on Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie’s futures with the pair out of contract.
Failure to qualify for Europe has reduced their chances of staying, but they will not be alone should they leave St James’ Park this summer. While United want to keep Isak, Bruno and Co, others could be available if the price is right.
We’ve already seen talk of Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron as potential contenders to be sold, although both are said to be happy on Tyneside. Every player has their price, of course, and if an offer comes in which is too good to turn down, they United could find themselves doing business.
The difference these days is that there is confidence any money will be reinvested in the squad. With that in mind, we want to know which players you would keep from the current squad and who you would move on or allow to leave.
We’ve listed 27 players here – all you have to do is click or swipe right to keep, left to sell, and we’ll compile the stats for each squad member.
