Kerry Katona is on the lookout for new love and she’s put out a call for ITV to create a Celebrity version of Love Island for the over 40s crowd. After her split from fiance Ryan Mahoney in November, Kerry’s ready to dive back into the dating scene, as she gushed about the idea in her weekly column: “I wish they’d do a celeb over forties Love Island – I’d be on there in a heartbeat. It looks like so much fun. I want to be involved.”
The reality TV concept isn’t new, with the original 2005 Love Island series featuring famous faces as they searched for love in a villa in Fiji. However, since the show’s end in 2006, a celebrity revival of the dating show is yet to happen.

Meanwhile, Kerry’s eyes are glued to the All Stars series and, after watching Scott Thomas’ exit during Sunday evening’s show, she’s all praises for the show, especially for Casey O’Gorman. “I am absolutely loving Love Island: All Stars – I’ve become obsessed. I think I’m a bit in love with Casey. He seems like he’s really grown up since the last time he was on the show and is very cute with Gabby. I think Ekin-Su is trying to stir up the drama too much, but I do really like Curtis”, wrote Kerry.
Kerry seems ready to jump back into the dating pool after confessing she was ‘heartbroken’ over her split from fitness trainer Ryan last year. As she faced the spending Christmas 2024 without him, Kerry shared in December, “It’s hard seeing other couples happy and thinking of how I was always with Ryan at Christmas. I’m struggling to feel that spirit. It was six and a half years of my life, and all the memories from that time. I’ve spent some days crying all day because I do really miss him. I’m just heartbroken.”
While she hasn’t spilled the beans on the exact reason for their split, which resulted in Ryan moving out of their shared Cheshire home, Kerry did reveal there was a breach of trust.

Announcing the break-up, she said: “We are no longer together and it’s been a really tough week – I never in a million years thought this would happen. Without going into too much detail, there’s been a breach of trust between us. I don’t know if we’ll be able to work it out or not, but I do still love him so much.”
“I feel like everything has heaped on recently and it’s so much to deal with, I’m really struggling. But I know I can get through it, no matter what happens. I’ve been through break-ups before and come out the other side, so we just need to see what happens.”
