Newcastle United are continuing to chase down the Premier League’s top six places as European qualification still twinkles brightly in the distance.
The Magpies are on track to ensure progression to the UEFA Conference League with a seventh-placed finish but Manchester United’s recent struggles have highlighted a cause for optimism. Eddie Howe’s men are just one point behind the Red Devils and could yet finish as high as fifth if results go their way.
With a trip to Turf Moor next on the agenda, Vincent Kompany’s side are staring down the barrel in terms of an immediate return to the second tier and with Newcastle next in town, one key stat could play into United’s hands come Saturday afternoon in Lancashire.

Staggeringly, the Clarets have failed to win on home soil since December, as they completed a 5-0 demolition over fellow promoted side Sheffield United. That victory signifies just the second time in 2023/24 that Burnley have posted a home win.
Four draws against Luton Town, Fulham, Wolves and Brighton have amassed just an additional four points, with the other 14 points coming on the road, having beaten the Hatters, Fulham and most recently the Blades along the way.
Newcastle haven’t lost at Turf Moor since 2019 when Chris Wood’s strike proved the only difference between the two sides. But with plenty riding on this weekend’s meeting between the two, chances are fireworks are expected once more.
