Lil Tjay Had ‘Never Heard of’ Plaqueboymax Prior to Streaming Incident

Lil Tjay says he wasn’t aware of who, exactly, Plaqueboymax was prior to his recent appearance on a stream.

In videos making the rounds after his appearance alongside Fivio Foreign, which came to an unceremonious but headlines-spurring conclusion, Tjay is seen telling DDG that he felt the situation was “a little treacherous” from the outset. He also questioned what Plaqueboymax was expecting when he intervened in a would-be smoke session.

“I’m damn near mind-blown n***as even care that much,” he said. “I’m looking like, whew, I’m here for Fivio. … I didn’t even know that n***a was a streamer.”

Tjay went on to acknowledge that Max may have been operating in “defense mode” at the time, though he also made a point to allege that the space “already smelled like smoke” prior to his own lighting-up.

Tjay continued to address the incident, underscoring his claim that he was not familiar with Max’s work prior to appearing on the stream, which he says he only did as part of his support for Fivio.

“I swear to God, I didn’t know him until that day,” Tjay, who also suggested that he would have slapped Max under different circumstances, said. “Even right now, damn near that’s the only thing I know about him is that we had that altercation. … But big ups to the streaming community.”

In another video, as seen below, Tjay added in a quick “no disrespect” when reiterating his lack of Max knowledge.

“I definitely didn’t know you. I’d never heard of you,” he said, adding that the smoking incident was not “the end of the world.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that Tjay and Fivio both left the stream in question after Plaqueboy expressed his smoking concerns. During the stream, as reported at the time, Plaqueboy urged the two to refrain from smoking in the space, which he noted was an Airbnb rental.

This isn’t the first time Tjay has taken issue with a streamer. Back in November, he called Adin Ross“fucking racist.” That same month, Max and Ross both landed on Complex’s ranking of the 25 best streamers.
