Marks & Spencer has launched a surprise sale with price drops on everything from clothing to beauty and homeware, with shoppers already rushing to snap up the bargains.
With up to 50% off some winter wardrobe must-haves over in the fashion department to make way for spring styles, it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to some payday purchases that you are still likely to get plenty of wear out of in the unpredictable British weather. Some of the biggest savings to be had are on bestselling boots, including knee-high styles ideal for everything from the office to nights out.
One of the best-rated pairs with every size still in stock at the time of writing are the Suede Block Heel Knee High Boots, now £53 reduced from £89, which have earned an average score of 4.6 out of five stars based on more than 130 reviews from M&S shoppers. With a stretchy side zip to make them easy to pull on and off, they are also designed with M&S ‘Insolia’ and ‘Freshfeet’ technology to help keep you comfortable on your feet all day long.

One shopper praised in a five-star review of the boots: “I think I have found the perfect boots at last! With slightly wider calves and slim ankles, I’m often left disappointed and returning lovely pairs of boots I’d love to have kept. Great quality and true dark black colour.”
Another agreed: “They fit really well and look fabulous on. Easy to pull the zip up as there is plenty of room on the leg. Very comfortable. I’m very pleased!”
A third reviewer raved: “These boots are a lovely classic style that just won’t date! They are comfortable and great quality, they look far more expensive than they were!”
And someone else wrote: “Love these boots, great quality, comfortable heel height and can be worn with everything. Easy to zip up and generous around the calves.”
While 90% of shoppers gave the boots either a four or five-star rating, however, not everyone found them to be as comfortable. One person fed back: “Lovely stylish boot but insole/arch hard and not supportive.” And another commented: “They were far too big around my calves, I could not wear them.”
The M&S sale price beats similar styles elsewhere on the high street, including the Forever Comfort Suede Knee High Slouch Boots at Next which come in black or brown with half sizes available and have a price tag of £89, or the Sadie Suede Knee High Boots at John Lewis which would set you back £149.
Another favourite in the M&S sale are the Leather Cowboy Block Heel Knee High Boots, now £75 reduced from £125, which have earned praise as “super comfortable” by shoppers who said they look “fantastic” on and go with “a great variety of outfits”. For a budget-friendly version of the look, one of the bestsellers over at Debenhams are the Wallis Aria Faux Leather Block Heel Riding Knee Boots, which have 63% off at £28.12 reduced from £75.
