Meek Mill, MrBeast Offer to Buy TikTok After Elon Musk Report

TikTok is days away from being banned in the U.S.

After Jan. 19, the platform’s owner, ByteDance, will no longer be able to issue updates to the app, eventually making it useless for American users.

Now that reports of Elon Musk acquiring TikTok have been disproven, some unexpected players have jokingly thrown their hats in the ring to purchase the platform.

Meek Mill took to X on Monday night, tweeting, “Sell TikTok to me!”

MrBeast has also expressed a desire to buy TikTok. “Okay fine, I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned,” he wrote on Monday night.

It’s unlikely that Meek and MrBeast have the funds to buy TikTok, which has an estimated value of $300 billion. According to Google, MrBeast has an estimated net worth of $500 million. It’s unknown what Meek’s estimated net worth is.

News surfaced that Musk might purchase the app; however, TikTok has since said those rumors are false.

“We can’t be expected to comment on pure fiction,” a TikTok spokesperson told BBC, in response to a Bloomberg report that Chinese officials are considering Musk as a buyer, with X taking control of TikTok’s US operations, if the US Supreme Court stands by the ban.

In late December, Donald Trump requested that the Supreme Court delay the app’s Jan. 19 ban. In a legal filing, he asked that his administration be given time to “pursue a negotiated resolution.”
