It’s always one of the biggest events of the year on Tyneside and Newcastle Pride 2025 should one to remember, with the reveal of some big name acts for its main stage this year.
For the last 16 years, Northern Pride have ensured that Newcastle city centre has been awash with colour, celebrations and love, with its events that grown substantially since the first in Leazes Park back in 2009. There was a big change for the structure of the annual occasion last year, with the main stage moving from Exhibition Park to the centre of Times Square, as the likes of Whigfield, Drag Race UK champion Ginger Johnson, dance diva Kelly Llorenna, The Voice winners Hunni and Taylor Swift tribute Totally Taylor entertained.
Well, after going down a storm in July 2024, Totally Taylor is back on the bill for Pride 2025 and is joined by a string of household names. Some 15 years after she launched her pop career with two number 1s in a row; topping the charts twice in a matter of months with Mama Do and Boys & Girls, Pixie Lott, will headline Pride in the City this July; with her sure to also include her anthemic hit All About Tonight in her set.
And she’s not the only top star to be lined up for Pride this year on July 19 and 20, as TV favourite and highly rated DJ Gok Wan will be on the decks in TImes Square, while some serious Geordie flavour will be brought courtesy of local icon and Drag Race 2023 runner up Michael Marouli. Fans of 90s dance will be delighted to learn that Dreamer and Don’t Stop Movin’ hitmakers Livin’ Joy will also perform, with other acts on the Pride in the City bill including Totally Taylor, Sabrina Carpenter tribute Taste of Sabrina and Lady Gaga soundalike Donna Marie.
The confirmed line-up so far is rounded off by Newcastle Mela, The Future is Queer, the soon to be confirmed winner of Drag Idol 2025, with more cabaret and local artists set to be announced and Queerdo, with Miss Rory, PlastiQ and Paris Munro on hoisting duties.
If you want to get in nice and early with your ticket, they are already on sale, priced from £7.50 from the Northern Pride website.
