Newcastle Racecourse has announced the return of Northumberland Plate Festival at the end of June. Set across three days from 27th June to 29th June, the JenningsBet Northumberland Plate Festival promises an experience steeped in a rich heritage of horse racing. At the heart of the festival lies the historic JenningsBet Northumberland Plate Day on Saturday 29th June, a legendary event that captivates racegoers, and is known as the “Pitmen’s Derby.”
On Thursday, June 27th, the Jenningsbet Northumberland Plate Festival kicks off with the Seaton Delaval Handicap Stakes, setting the stage for three days of exhilarating competition. On Friday 28th June, visitors can prepare for Gosforth Park Cup Night, a hugely popular evening in the Newcastle’s sporting calendar.
This will be followed by a performance by the legendary band MADNESS, who will bring their timeless hits such as Baggy Trousers, One Step Beyond and Our House. Saturday’s racing is also accompanied by the sounds of Hacienda Classical, the widely acclaimed live orchestral clubbing series featuring DJ Graeme Park, Mike Pickering and spearheaded by orchestra conductor Tim Crooks.
