It’s a place that Newcastle United stars past and present are big fans of, thanks in no small part to its sought after Sunday dinners, which they boast are the ‘best in town’ and if you fancy getting a taste of the Branches action, it’s now launched its very own Restaurant Week deal.
If you wandered down Jesmond’s famous Osborne Road anytime over the festive period, you can’t fail to have been drawn to the array of twinkling lights that adorned Branches’ exterior and it’s not just its outdoor aesthetics that have had people talking over the last year or two.
As she and NUFC star husband Kieran headed there for Sunday dinner in his first season with the Magpies, Charlotte made a rather cryptic post about her meal on Instagram,, uploading a photo of a delicious looking plate of food, but without adding the crucial bit on information as to where she was, as her many followers flooded the comments section keen for answers.
And, the reveal that Charlotte and Kieran were dining at Branches had many people eager to go and try what she dubbed the ‘best Sunday dinner’ for themselves. TV stars like Sophie Kasaei and Vicky Pattison are also big fans of the plush venue on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre and Kieran isn’t the only United favourite to head there in recent times.
Toon legend Alan Shearer joined his family, including daughter Hollie and her rugby player fiance Joe Marchant for a Christmas night out at Branches last month, bringing more attention to a haunt that has earned itself a great reputation, having previously been a big hit in Ponteland.
And Branches looks set to be extra busy this week as, like many other places in the city, it serves up some mouthwatering deals for Restaurant Week, announcing it is ready to welcome customers to’ fine dining at its best,’ as it cuts its prices for a £24.95 three course lunch deal and the same offer for £29.95 at night, with mains including tagliatelle carbonara and roasted Yorkshire chicken breast.

Talking up their much sought after Sunday dinners in a separate post, Branches wrote; “At Branches, we believe that Sunday dinner should be an unforgettable experience, and we work hard to make it the best Sunday dinner you have ever had in Newcastle! From sourcing the freshest ingredients to crafting a meal that melts the taste buds, every detail is thoughtfully considered.
“Our talented chefs pour their passion into Sunday dinners, ensuring a perfect blend of flavours that keep our guests coming back for more. Join us this Sunday and discover why we’re the go to spot for a delightful Sunday dinner experience! “
