Two restaurants on the outskirts of Newcastle, both big favourites of United players, have made it into a starting XI of the best places for football fans to check out; after Man vs Food star Adam Richman headed to Tyneside earlier in the year to film a new TV show.
Adam, the host known the world over for fronting Man vs Food, attracted a lot of attention when he arrived in Newcastle city centre in the autumn on the hunt for places to feature in his new series Adam Richman Eats Football, which will see him head to cities known for their love of the beautiful game and head to places popular with both football icons and the supporters that cheer them on every week.
During his time in the city, Adam was seen filming at popular Greek haunt Acropolis in the Grainger Market, before heading to St James’ Stack, where he got on stage and told a packed crowd to keep their eyes peeled for what he had coming up. Adam was also seen with Brack Burger owners Joe and Ollie Brack in Jesmond and it’s the burger business, loved by United players, that is one of two venues in the suburb to make Adam’s ‘first team of best football food’
Adam went through his starting XI, also featuring places in the likes of London, where he headed for pie, mash and liquor; Liverpool and Glasgow, during an appearance on
when he was put on spot by the show’s hosts on why each place made the cut. Speaking about Brazilian haunt Rio, known for serving up quality meat and lots of it, Adam mentioned that NUFC’s Brazilian stars Bruno and Joelinton are regular customers, as shots of Rio’s mouth watering dishes appeared on screen to tease his new programme, which will launch on The Food Network.
Moving onto Brack Burger, Adam described the work brothers Joe and Ollie do to build up Newcastle with their numerous businesses as ‘incredible’ as he talked the CBS through one of Brack Burger’s most popular bites, the PB & Perry burger.
Brack Burger was the place where many of Newcastle’s first team squad celebrated qualifying for the Champions League in 2023, with defender Paul Dummett also starring in an advert for their St James’ Stack opening, after he left United at the end of last season.
