Newcastle United 2025/26 latest kit ‘leaks’ as 90s remake on the way

The Premier League is now just a few weeks away from coming to a close, with this season’s kit being retired away to the back of the wardrobe after the curtain comes down. With kits such a big part of a team’s identity, some reported leaks have given an insight into what Newcastle could be lining up in next season.

The Magpies rekindled their relationship with Adidas last season after a move away from English brand Castore, bringing back memories of 90s and 00s success with some iconic strips from the three stripes.

Fans fondly remember the iconic grandad collars and Newcastle Brown Ale sponsorship worn in the late 90s – even prompting a remake this year.

Looking ahead, Adidas are on a trend of reimagining their old classics for modern times, with this season’s homr kit even featuring Newcastle’s badge from 1976 to 1983 on the back of the neck.

Newcastle and Adidas have produced some of the club’s most iconic shirts

According to a report from Footy Headlines, the German outfit is looking to take fans back to the 1997-98 season with prime Alan Shearer, John Barnes and Stuart Pierce next season. That season the Magpies played in an iconic navy away kit, with an orange and green stripe down the right going through an off-centred Newcastle Brown Ale logo.

The shirt was a fan favourite for years, with the new 2025/26 third kit reportedly looking to play off the classic combination. Footy Headlines claims the kit will keep the same textured blue and include the retro stripe with an green and orange trim. The kit will also have to ditch the 90s sponsor and its classic logo for the current Saudi entertainment company Sela.

Footy Headlines also claims that another fan-made kit fooled many followers after doing the rounds online.

The kit kept the classic white and black stripes, but the outlet reports it was just a fan-made mock-up of next season’s shirt.

The outlet claims Adidas is putting a new spin on the home shirt design by incorporating a texture inspired by a shepherd’s plaid – paying homage to its black-and-white origin story. Although an official release is not expected until the end of the season fans can expect the release of the home shirt first, with the third kit often released later in the summer after the new season has officially kicked off.

It is important to note that the official kit is yet to be confirmed, and until it is we will not know for certain what next season’s shirts will look like.
