Newcastle United drop double contract hint in season ticket renewal packs

Newcastle United have dropped a hidden message in their season ticket renewal press release on two new contracts.

With Fabian Schar close to extending his current deal, the Swiss defender features in season ticket renewal packs as one of the poster boys looking forward to next season. And Sweden star Alexander Isak, who is set to sit down with the Magpies at the end of the current campaign is also used as part of Newcastle’s push to retain season ticket holders for another year.

Extending Isak’s contract would be deemed a major sign of ambition as far as the Newcastle fanbase are concerned. The striker has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Liverpool this term.

Despite a 5% increase on tickets, Newcastle chiefs have opted against increasing ticket prices for domestic cup competitions. However, extending deals for the likes of Schar and Isak will be an easy win for Newcastle. Also featuring on the packs are Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, who have also been linked with the exit door in recent times but a headline on the campaign entitled: “United for another season” compliments the black and white images.

Speaking about the contract talks with Isak, CEO Darren Eales said earlier this week: “We’re going to be clear – he has multi years left so all of these things, we will have the discussions in terms of a new deal just like we did with, whether it’s Joelinton, Bruno or Anthony Gordon. That’s something that we will approach in the summer.”

Eales also told fans that it was vital that season ticket prices were increased if Newcastle are to keep pace with the big boys. He went on: “Raising ticket prices is a decision we make reluctantly but it is one that is unavoidable if we are to keep pace and build towards our collective ambitions.

“In a world of profit and sustainability rules, we must continue to face up to challenging decisions and find a balance that keeps football affordable while ensuring the club is able to compete. Without this approach, achieving the sustainable success we all crave simply becomes impossible.

“We continue to relentlessly pursue other revenue opportunities, and we have achieved rapid commercial growth to fuel our progress, as well as offsetting growing operational costs.”
