Newcastle United have an immediate chance to make amends for the disappointing display at Crystal Palace when they take on Sheffield United at St James’ Park today. Eddie Howe is set to have the same set of players available to him this afternoon, with Tino Livramento undergoing a late fitness check.
That means Callum Wilson can push for a place after his introduction from the bench at Selhurst Park in midweek, although Howe could be tempted to stick with the same starting XI and hope we get a performance more along the lines of the 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last time out on home soil.
The Blades head north with relegation all-but confirmed – in fact they can go down today should results go against them. Manager Chris Wilder is already preparing for next season but will be looking for a few big results before the end of the campaign.
