Newcastle’s Dan Burn seen at restaurant where Alan Shearer partied before Spurs match

Ahead if a tricky away match against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, Newcastle United defender Dan Burn enjoyed a night at one of the city’s newest and most buzzed about restaurants on Thursday night, with staff delighted to see him.

Having been beaten at home by West Ham and then away at Brentford, things weren’t looking too good for NUFC at the start of December, but the last few weeks have seen them really turn a corner, with them getting revenge against Brentford at St James’ Park to make it through to the semi finals of the Carabao Cup, before also notching up very convincing wins against the likes of Leicester, Ipswich and Aston Villa in the Premier League.

And then came the cherry on the cake of the Magpies’ festive season, when they headed to Old Trafford on Monday night and saw off Manchester United in a 2-0 win. Next up for Eddie Howe’s man is a trip to the capital to take on Spurs, who have slipped to 11th in the table, eight points behind Newcastle, just over a month after they stunned reigning champions Man City by thrashing them at the Etihad.

Blyth footballer Dan has delivered some impressive performances so far this season and, away from the pitch, took the opportunity to try out some top notch food down the Quayside this week, with a trip to DOOD, the much talked about new restaurant that has gone into the famous Charts House premises on the banks of the River Tyne.

DOOD opened in September and quickly became a big hit with footballers, with United legend Alan Shearer all smiles as he thoroughly enjoyed its VIP launch, also attended by Dan’s current teammates Fabian Schar, Joe Willock and Matty Targett.

DOOD shared a photo of Dan posing with a member of staff, on their social media channels on Friday morning, captioning it: “From Newcastle’s pitch to our table, NUFC’s Dan Burn brought a touch of local pride to DOOD last night. A true pleasure to host – thanks for joining us!”
