Parkdean Resorts offers hundreds of summer jobs around North East

Newcastle holiday park operator Parkdean Resorts is looking to recruit 6,000 people into seasonal jobs, including 750 in the North East.

The UK’s largest holiday park operator, which runs 66 parks across the country and welcomed more than 3m tourists last year, has invested £34m in its sites as it gets ready for peak summer season. It is now hiring for jobs in a wide range of roles for its summer season, including cleaners, bar staff, maintenance assistants, lifeguards, security officers, chefs and kitchen assistants.

Parkdean has its headquarters on the edge of Newcastle and operators holiday parks at Church Point in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Whitley Bay, Cresswell Towers at Druridge Bay, Sandy Bay in Ashington, and Crimdon Dene, near Hartlepool. Its annual investment programme has seen it refurbish more than 1,500 holiday homes, add new caravans and introduce new restaurants and cafes at a number of parks.

  • CEO Steve Richards said: “We’re always looking to invest in the guest experience at our parks. 59% of our customers rebook with us, and continuing to enhance our parks will help bring people back year after year.

“We create rewarding jobs in every community we operate in, which can turn into life-long careers in hospitality, and our staff engagement score of 83%, which is well above the sector average, shows our teams are happy. 2024 promises to be another busy year, so there’s no better time to join our brilliant team who do so much to help our guests make lasting memories with their families.”

Last year the company won a number of gold awards at the British Travel Awards while 19 of its parks received official Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice recognition.

Parkdean Resorts also agreed a refinancing deal worth a reported £600m to fuel growth plans. Onex Corporation, the company’s Canadian owners, ploughed extra equity into the firm after deciding to drop an earlier plan to sell the company for around £1.6bn. The company said it was seeing strong demand for bookings this year, with many domestic tourists opting to take holidays in the UK.
