Peaky Blinders and The Flood star Sophie Rundle expecting second child with TV co-star

Happy Valley actress Sophie Rundle, also well known for playing Ada Thorne in Peaky Blinders, has revealed she is expecting her second child with her husband Matt Stokoe.

The star first shared the exciting news during a previous appearance on The One Show, but has now taken to Instagram to share a pregnancy update with fans and a snap of her blossoming bump.

The actress starred in recent ITV drama After the Flood alongside her real-life husband, Matt Stockoe. Sophie, 35, played a pregnant police officer in the drama series.

Now the Peaky Blinders actress has revealed that she is expecting herself – but has admitted that her TV role has made it feel like she’s been pregnant for a long time.

On The One Show, Sophie said: “I am now pregnant in real life. So this is starting to feel like the longest pregnancy any human woman has ever endured.”

During the appearance on the BBC show in January, Sophie revealed the couple’s happy news and added that because she’d been filming with a fake baby bump, it now feels like she’s had the ‘longest pregnancy’.

Sophie, who also starred in Gentleman Jack, also revealed that wearing the fake bump nearly put her off having another child.

She said: “Wasn’t pregnant then, had a big fake bump and I think I was sort of put off when I had the fake bump then enough time had passed and now I’m going in for more.”

On Instagram, alongside the new picture of her baby bump, Sophie wrote: “I forget who I have and haven’t told at this point because I’ve been busy trying to remember what a waistband is and stop my three year old using my belly like a trampoline but big ol’ baby number two incoming. Ain’t that a nice thing.”

This will be Sophie and Matt’s second child. The couple are also parents to a three-year-old son, Henry.

Sophie has been in a relationship with fellow actor Matt, who also starred in Bodyguard, since the couple met in 2016 on the set of Jamestown. He is best known for playing Alex in Channel 4’s Misfits.

One wrote: “Who’s the father Ada?” Another joked: “A new Shelby is coming to the family.”

While another shared: “Who did this to you Ada?”

Sharing a sweet snap of her and her newborn at the time, she wrote: “Our little boy, who arrived safely and happily over the Easter weekend and changed the game forever. My little egg. My overflowing, grateful heart.”

Sophie regularly gives fans a glimpse inside her family life on Instagram, where she shares a mixture of work-related posts and adorable snaps of her partner Matt, their son and their dog Buddy.
