Strictly Come Dancing’s Pete Wicks has added another layer of intrigue to his relationship status with dance partner Jowita Przystał, after publicly backing Maura Higgins – who he was rumoured to be seeing. Maura, 34, is currently braving the elements in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, while Pete and Jowita are lighting up the dance floor on the BBC show.
Pete, 36, was thought to have been romancing Love Island star Maura, although she did declare herself single when she entered the jungle. Meanwhile, Pete has been seen getting close with Jowita outside of rehearsals, sparking fan speculation about a potential romance.

Now, ex-TOWIE star Pete has sparked the rumour mill further by posting more messages of support for the Irish reality star. Sharing a snap originally posted on Maura’s account, urging fans to vote her to win, Pete affectionately wrote: “There she is! My winner…”, before encouraging his followers to cast their votes.
This comes after he has shared other supportive messages for Maura, who made it to the Love Island final in 2019. Footage of Maura on I’m A Celeb was shared on her account, which is being managed by her team while she’s in the jungle.
The post included clips showing Maura tackling the first dreaded eating Bushtucker trial of the series on Saturday night, alongside “Father”, aka Reverend Richard Coles, reports the Mirror. The dynamic duo aced their trial, bagging a junk food feast for their campmates, with Pete gushing, “WHAT A WOMAN.”
Amid swirling romance rumours after they reportedly shared a “passionate” smooch in August, Maura cheekily addressed the chatter by sporting a tee that featured her planting one on Pete, underneath the slogan “we can’t be friends”. Word has it they were also caught locking lips during an afterparty at the Pride of Britain Awards last month.

While Pete and Jowita’s romantic status remains hush-hush, they’ve been clocking some serious hangout hours, which to the casual observer, look a lot like date nights. Stepping out of Strictly’s dance studios, they’ve been seen paying a visit to a dog shelter, where Jowita couldn’t hide her joy.
During their heartwarming trip to the Dogs Trust in Basildon, Jowita was over the moon to snap a picture with adorable puppies. She posted, “Last week I had the pleasure to visit @dogstrust_basildon. Thank you team for a warm welcome and thank you @p_wicks01 for taking me there, one of the most beautiful mornings.”
She continued to sing their praises: “What you’re doing for those little ones is absolutely remarkable, you’re my heroes. Like @p_wicks01 says everyone deserves a second chance.” In a touching photo, fans saw Jowita beaming as she cuddled a puppy, with Pete at her side giving another pooch some love.
However, Pete dismissed speculation that they are in a romantic relationship during an interview with Lorraine Kelly, insisting: “We’ve said from day one that we’re really good friends but they just want to do what they want to do.”
