Are you gripped by ITV’s thrilling new crime drama, Red Eye? If so, you’re not alone. With Richard Armitage leading the cast, the show has quickly become a must-watch for fans of suspenseful storytelling.
In episode two, the plot thickens as Dr. Matthew Nolan finds himself embroiled in a dangerous conspiracy after being extradited from the UK to Beijing, China, under suspicion for a crime he didn’t commit.
“He’s a doctor, so on paper he should be extremely trustworthy,” said Richard in an interview with the Radio Times. “I trusted him at the beginning of the script, but then there were points in the story where I started doubting him. Is he a spy? Is he some sort of courier or mule?
“He had gained my trust, but then I wondered if this man was really everything he was telling us. It flips between scenes, and you wonder what he’s up to, which is really interesting to play.”
Matthew finds himself handcuffed and under the watchful eye of London detective DC Hana Li, portrayed by the talented Jing Lusi, known for her breakout role in Crazy Rich Asians. Jing has also had notable appearances in Heart of Stone, Holby City, Gangs of London, Lucky Man, SAS: Red Notice, Man vs Bee and The Feed, among others.
