He gave Newcastle an incredible weekend to remember last summer and Sam Fender will be back at St James’ Park for two huge gigs in June 2025.
Less than four years after he saw debut album Hypersonic Missiles rocket straight to the top of the charts, North Shields music icon Sam packed out Newcastle United’s ground over consecutive nights, as a combined total of 100,000 fans flocked to see him.
The Brit Award winner and his band delivered two gigs that will live long in the memory of anyone lucky enough to be there, with the whole city caught up in Fender Fever and those at the second one also given an added treat when AC/DC legend Brian Johnson made a surprise cameo.

After the release of his new single of the same name last week, Sam is gearing up to tour the UK and Europe on his People Watching tour next month, with tickets for his Newcastle date, on Friday, December 20, only made available through a ballot and then all being snapped up in no time at all by the fans fortunate enough to see the all important access code land in their inboxes.
Confirming the entire tour had sold out and leaving his legions of fans hoping for more, Seventeen Going Under singer Sam teased that he might need ‘a bigger boat’ for next year and now, after a major hint that an announcement was looming, it’s been revealed that he will play St James’ Park on Thursday, June 12 and Saturday, June 14 next year.
By playing two more gigs at the stadium, Sam will surpass a long record held by the Rolling Stones, who have performed at St James’ on on three previous occasions. Support on June 12 will come from Cmat, while on June 14 she will also be joined on the bill by US band The War on Drugs.
General sale tickets for both dates will begin on Friday, November 29, with fans also given the chance of getting them via a pre-sale on November 26, by pre-ordering the new People Watching album from Sam’s website.
£1 from every ticket sold will be donated back into select cultural organisations such as Youth Music and Sunday For Sammy to support the arts in the North East.
Set to arrive in February, more than three years after second LP, Seventeen Going Under hit number 1, People Watching is being described Sam’s ‘next step forward’ with’ colourful stories and observations of everyday characters living their everyday, but often extraordinary lives.’
