Sam Thompson has left fans in a tizzy with his loving birthday message to Zara McDermott, which included the endearing term “my person” and the promise, “I’m afraid you’re stuck with me forever.” The doting post has left fans speculating that there could be an engagement pending between the former Made in Chelsea and Love Island star.
In honour of Zara’s birthday, Sam took to Instagram on Saturday, 14 December, with a series of loved-up snaps from their fancy celebration lunch. In the caption, he gushed: “My best friend, and soul mate….some would say my person. I’m afraid you’re stuck with me forever happy birthday. I love you so much, and wow have I missed you over the past month! Here’s to another amazing year with you.”

Enthusiastic followers were quick to jump into the comments section, buzzing with excitement and curiosity about whether this sweet declaration was actually hinting at an engagement. One fan dropped a ring emoji followed by a flurry of question marks, another commented on the perfect engagement setting: “That’s the perfect dress for you to get engaged.”
Others were less subtle, with a third fan suggesting: “You should get her a ring………… just saying!!” A fourth nudged: “OK SAMWISE BUT WHERE’S THE RING,” reports the Mirror.

Talk of an engagement between the pair comes after they were hit with reports in the summer about a serious argument, which reportedly saw Zara moving out to stay with her family. However, squashing any split rumours, the couple showed they’ve bounced back stronger, evident from a snapshot Zara uploaded, showing Sam beaming among balloons on his 32nd birthday.

She couldn’t contain her joy when Sam won, taking to Instagram to post a video of her elated reaction with the triumphant caption: “The moment we all found out… OUR KING OF THE JUNGLE! ! ! ! ! ! ! “.
