Sara Davies was joined by stars from Morning Live and Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend, as she turned 40 in serious style, by throwing a huge festival in her native North East.
Having returned from a luxury holiday to Dubai just a few days earlier, and fortunately not having her plans hampered by the flooding in the UAE and subsequent travel chaos, Sara enlisted the help of Chantelle Walsh, the winner of BBC’s Ultimate Wedding Planner, the show she judges last year, to help her throw what some of her guests have since described as the best party they’d ever been to.
Sara has so far given a few snapshots from her celebration on Instagram, with her photos and videos including appearances from her Morning Live co-star Gethin Jones, who got a SD tattoo on his arm in Sara’s honour and Strictly pro Katya Jones and finalist John Whaite, who the County Durham entrepreneur became friends with when she starred on the show in 2021.

Chantelle roped in some help to give Sara a party to remember, with some of the other Ultimate Wedding Planner contestants heading north with her, with Sara over the moon by the results. Posting some photos on her Insta grid, including one of her with a friend with a dodgem car, the Dragons’ Den star wrote: “Who remembers these guys!?! They were some of the amazing planners who took part in the Ultimate Wedding Planner show last year (that I was a judge on along with @rajsomaiyaofficial and @fred_sirieix)
“Well a few months ago when I decided I wanted to throw a massive shindig for my 40th I rang @chantelle.co_ (the winner of the series) and said I was going to challenge her to organised the biggest most exciting party she’d ever organised in her life – and she said she was up to it and would draft in some recruits!”
Opening up on just what the party planners managed to pull off, Sara added: “I wanted a festival – and my word did they deliver! I have ridiculously high standards (for everything in my life) but they blew away even my every expectation!
“It was an incredibly special evening for me – I am a firm believer in the notion that you are a product of the people you surround yourself with – and so I wanted to get all those special people in my life together in one room to celebrate what we’ve collectively achieved for me through my third decade and I wanted everyone to go home and say it was the best party they’d ever been to! (And they did!)”
