Britain’s Got Talent’s Simon Cowell paused the live show to offer a sweet shout-out to Ant McPartlin.
As the hosts, Ant and Dec, launched into the first live episode of the series tonight, they were about to engage with the panel that included judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli when Simon chimed in with his warm message for new dad Ant.
Ant and his wife Anne-Marie recently welcomed their baby boy Wilder into the world. The excited daddy took to social media shortly after the birth to express gratitude for the outpouring of support and congratulations at the jubilant time.
In his announcement, he joyfully spoke: “Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!”.
Ant further extended his heartfelt thanks to fans and clarified his tattoo choice: “Hey all, I just wanted to say thank You so much for the kind messages of love and well wishes for our baby Wilder. He’s doing great. Glad you loved the tattoo as well. For all you dog lovers who asked why my beloved Hurley wasn’t on the family tree… he was! ! He was just covered by our newborn. All my love, gratitude and heartfelt thanks. A.”
During the live show, Simon wished his friend Ant well and gushed over the arrival of the new baby by saying: “By the way, can I just say congratulations to you, Ant? Truly, I really am happy for you.” Ant chuckled: “Thank you, I know you are. And thank you for you lovely gift.” He cheekily added: “Judges, I’m still waiting on yours.”
Other celebs also shared their joy over the news on social media. Alesha Dixon, a fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge, expressed her happiness while Holly Willoughby congratulated the couple with an affectionate post, saying: “Congratulations… welcome to the world Wilder… such beautiful news…”
There was also Cat Deeley of This Morning who commented: “Amazing ! What wonderful news …. Congratulations.” And Amanda contain her excitement as she shared: “Oh my gosh, this is just the most amazing news. Congratulations.”
Davina McCall, another well-known TV presenter joined in, expressing her own delight: “Arggggghhhhhhhhhh! ! ! ! This is AMAZING ! ! ! ! Congratulations to ALL of you.”
Also among those sending their congrats were First Dates star Fred Sirieix who kept it simple with a “Congrats.” Ashley Banjo echoed the sentiment with his “Congrats guys,” and it’s safe to say that Joel Dommett couldn’t contain his excitement as he added: “I LOVE THIS.”
