
A soap legend is making the switch from Albert Square to Times Square to host a huge karaoke night in Newcastle, having already gown down a storm in other cities across the UK.
While Walford car dealer Barry Evans was known for his romance with eventual wife Natalie and his, at times, very fraught relationship with mother in law Pat Butcher; it is his EastEnders demise that remains his biggest moment on screen, with Barry meeting his maker in the Scottish Highlands, having been pushed off a cliff by new wife Janine who was after his money.
Fast forward 21 years and Shaun Williamson, the actor famous to millions of BBC viewers for playing Barry, is causing a stir with his own cub night Barriaoke, which, as well as entertaining revellers a clubs up and down the UK, has also seen him entertain at huge outdoor events like Lakefest, Barcode festival and at Box Park in London.
And, this November, Shaun will have his sights set on Newcastle, when he takes over popular nightspot Digital in the heart of the city centre, for what is sure to be a fun packed night. An online description for the £20 a ticket night tells fans they can have the opportunity to ‘sing with a musical legend.’
The teaser for the Saturday, November 8 event, adds: “Old Woollen favourite Shaun Williamson is the star of EastEnders, Extras, Life’s Too Short and more recently a million viral videos. He hosts the event with his usual trademark warmth and teasing banter, accompanying participants on stage, creating a riotous, joyous moment that you’ll never forget.
The Barrioke night in Newcastle is one of many dates Shaun has on his Baz out of Hell world tour, which will see him play the likes of Butlins. Birmingham, Bristol and Sheffield this month alone, before heading to places including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stockton and even Dubai between now and May.
