Stacey Solomon has been dishing out some real talk on her latest beauty find, and it’s fair to say she’s not entirely impressed.
The down-to-earth star, who’s married to former EastEnder Joe Swash, took to social media to give her verdict on the much-hyped NYX Duck Plump Lip Gloss, which had everyone talking after Cardi B flaunted it at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The lip gloss, retailing at £10.50here at Superdrug, promises a full, glossy pout with just one application, and Stacey couldn’t wait to put it to the test. However, she quickly discovered a nifty trick for achieving that sought-after plump look without relying on the product.
Sharing her experience, Stacey said: “Hi I’ve got them – Nyx Duck Plump Lip Gloss. This one is Clearly Spicy – I guess it’s clear and spicy and this one is called Mauve Out of My Way.”

“Let’s try the clear one and do this half, see if this half gets bigger. Now what? High pigment plumping gloss – well there is no pigment in this one, it’s clear. I honestly can’t feel anything.”
“It doesn’t feel like anything, I can feel like the tiniest tingle, but if you drink a ginger shot…no, it’s not even as strong as a ginger shot. It’s not really doing anything for me.”
Feeling let down by the lacklustre results, Stacey then revealed her simple yet effective method for faking those “duck lips”.
“If you want duck lips, just draw them. Okay? This [lip gloss] isn’t gonna give you duck lips,” she advised. “Get a lip liner and draw outside of the line of your lip. I will do one side so you can see.”
She then reached for her Morphe Color Pencil, seemingly in the shade Backseat Love – which is £7 here at Morphe UK – and began to sketch “outside the lip line”.

Stacey quipped: “This is only if you want ridiculously bigger lips. If you want duck lips, this is what you really gotta do.”
“Already, this side looks well bigger than that side? Do you know what the real hack is it though? Use a lighter lip liner than the colour you’re gonna put on.”
“Choose a darker lip colour over it and then Bob’s your uncle. Look at the difference. Why are we bothering with tingle cream when you can just draw on it and it looks better? “.
“Sorry Nyx, it’s a nice formula but still quite expensive.”

Stacey then applied her L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance Lipstick, likely in the shade Snooze Your Alarm, available at Sainbury’s for £9 here.
Fans were left in stitches after watching Stacey’s video, with one commenting: “I love your honesty and we need more people like you. Lots of us don’t have money to waste, so thank you!”
