Love has bloomed in the shadows of the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom between two dance professionals, including one previously rumoured to be paired off with their celebrity dance partner. Throughout the BBC’s much-loved dance fest in 2024, speculation was rife about pro Jowita Przystał, the 30-year-old stunning dancer, and TOWIE hottie Pete Wicks, aged 36, possibly striking up a spark.
Whispers of a possible love triangle were also making the rounds, hinting Pete might have been cosying up with Love Island’s gorgeous Maura Higgins, 34. But it turns out that these whispers might just be red herrings because the real romance sizzling behind the scenes was apparently between Jowita and Vito Coppola, 32, who danced his way to the finals with Miranda star Sarah Hadland, 53.

A sneaky report is now hinting that while waltzing with their celeb partners, Jowita and Vito only had eyes for each other. And if that wasn’t juicy enough, there’s talk of even more secret flings weaving through the sequins and cha-cha-cha’s that haven’t hit headlines yet.
Spilling the tea on the hot new couple, who were both formerly linked to other names — Jowita to ex-Strictly swooner Giovanni Pernice, aged 34 — an insider told The Sun: “There have been several flings going on under the radar this year but people are talking behind the scenes. The chemistry on set is palpable. But Vito is very respectful of Jowita and has been trying to woo her all series. Now that her partner Pete Wicks is no longer around to distract her, Vito can finally take centre stage,” reports the Mirror. OK! has reached out to reps of Jowita, Vito and Strictly for comment.
Saturday night (14 December) saw comedian Chris McCausland, 47, and his dance partner Dianne Buswell, 35, crowned as the winners of the 2024 season of the show – and the other contestants, dancers and judges have showered them with praise.
In a message of support to the couple, Jowita posted on Instagram on Sunday: “They did it… massive congratulations to @chrismccauslandcomedy and @diannebuswell our Strictly 2024 Champions. You inspired so many people, you shown us that anything is possible… thank you for all those beautiful moments you both created on that dance floor.”
After a challenging year for Strictly – which faced accusations of abuse behind the scenes and lower-than-usual ratings – Jowita went on to defend the show and its place in her heart.
She wrote: “Congratulations to all finalists, you should be so proud of yourselves. It was a pure joy watching you all dance! Last night was very emotional… and just reassured me why I do what I do. @bbcstrictly creates magic, dancing connect people and I feel grateful I can be part of it.”
