With the countdown on for Taylor Swift’s UK arrival, after her eagerly-awaited The Eras Tour got under way in Europe, the US star has written a special message to fans.
And it’s set to see excitement rocket even further among the lucky Swifties who have bagged tickets for one of her tour dates. The UK leg will bring Swift, and special guest Paramore, to Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London – locations which North East fans no doubt would be happy to travel to – and those who have so far missed out in the scramble to book could still have a chance of success thanks to re-sales.
The Cruel Summer star wrote fans a message after launching her tour in Paris last week – following the recent release of new album The Tortured Poets Department – and after a follow-up date in Stockholm she will arrive in the UK in less than a month. The 34-year-old told her Paris fans and all those yet to attend her tour that she is “fired up” to play for every crowd to come.
As Wales Online reported, Swift shared snaps from the stage on Instagram and told her 283m followers: “This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical.”
Swift thanked her crew, fellow performers and band “who worked tirelessly in their break to concoct this surprise for you” but especially her fans who in Paris saw the new addition for the first time and gave back “so much excitement, passion, and love”. She added: “I’m SO fired up to play this for every crowd on the tour.”
Are tickets still available for Taylor Swift’s UK dates?
It’s always worth keeping an eye on official sites for the chance of tickets as fans who might find they cannot attend can re-sell theirs. Watch out on Ticketmaster and AXS for these official tickets.
Alternatively, you could try resale ticket websites such as ticket re-sale marketplace Viagogo and VividSeats. These platforms enable you to browse without rushing, as tickets listed by fellow enthusiasts stay accessible until they are purchased.
A spokesperson for Viagogo has previously said: “The European leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour has been long anticipated. We’ve not seen anything like this since The Beatles. Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee.
“Sellers on our marketplace may list tickets at high values when demand is high but prices can change and tend to reduce over time. We recommend Swifties wait for demand to settle and check regularly for a listing that meets their budget.” The spokesperson added that tickets for Taylor Swift‘s UK dates have already sold for as low as £172 on its platform, adding: “Also, tickets listed at eye-catchingly high levels rarely, if ever, sell.”
AXS, another approved ticket seller, warned: “The only way to obtain a valid ticket for Taylor Swift’s shows is via an official agent. Any tickets found to be purchased via an unauthorised reseller will not be valid for entry into the concerts and will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of sale.”
It added in a statement: “Through official re-sale facilities, ticket re-sale prices are capped to help combat the inflation of ticket prices and put a stop to ticket touting. For more information on official re-sale facilities, fans should visit the website of their approved ticket agent.”
Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double-check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale – such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation – to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.
