Eddie Howe will assess Newcastle United trio Miguel Almiron, Joelinton and Kieran Trippier ahead of Saturday’s trip to Burnley.
Howe has hinted that Paraguay international Almiron is the closest to a return and was hopeful of welcoming him back at Turf Moor or the game after. Both Trippier and Joelinton continue to be assessed and it remains to be seen whether they join in with the main group for training this week.
Newcastle boss Howe said: “Miggy is there or there about so we are hopeful for next week.” Despite the big victory over Sheffield United, the day did not pass without fresh injury concerns as Switzerland star Fabian Schar limped off at the break with a hamstring injury.

Tino Livramento, who has played through the pain barrier with an ankle problem, also trod gingerly out of St James’ Park on Saturday night. The ex-Chelsea defender had missed the draw against Everton and the slender triumph over Fulham at Craven Cottage after coming 56 minutes into the 4-3 win over West Ham.
Howe had looked at Livramento as only an “emergency option” just days ago but the right-back wanted to play against the Blades. His head coach said: “Tino will be better for today. We had a meeting on Friday, and he said he felt fit to play. He said he felt good. I backed him, and I thought he gave a really good performance for us.”
Saturday’s opponents Burnley picked up a creditable draw away to Manchester United at the weekend and left Old Trafford the happier of the two sides. With three matches to play Vincent Kompany’s side are just two points adrift of Nottingham Forest and still very much in the hunt for survival.
