The Masked Singer star ‘storms off stage’ after being voted off in ‘chaos’

The Masked Singer was reportedly “thrown into chaos” when a celebrity contestant “stormed off” the stage after being voted out. The ITV show, which returned last weekend with a fresh batch of disguised celebs, is set to air some “dramatic scenes” on Saturday night’s episode.

Apparently, the next unmasking, which will be shown on Saturday 11 January, didn’t go as planned when the ousted anonymous performer, described as a “world-renowned star”, walked off in disappointment. A source told The Sun that it was “absolutely bonkers,” as usually, the celeb with the least votes takes off their mask and chats to the panel before performing again without their disguise.

However, this time, the star turned around and shuffled off stage, leaving everyone stunned. The source added that it created “even more” intrigue for the audience to find out who was behind the mask. Insiders revealed that show bosses had to coax the star into finishing their performance while host Joel Dommett kept the audience entertained. The source shared that the celeb was “basically gutted” to be leaving the contest “so soon” into the new series.

The sixth season of the hit show The Masked Singer kicked off last Saturday, with six contestants taking to the stage. The remaining six performed the following night, with two celebrities being unmasked, reports the Mirror.

This year sees a change in the panel, with Love Island’s Maya Jama replacing Rita Ora. She joins returning judges Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, and Jonathan Ross. Guest panellists for the first two episodes were Olympic athlete Mo Farah and actress Vicky McClure, with Suranne Jones set to appear on Saturday’s episode.

Spag Bol was revealed to be Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway after her performance of Geri Halliwell’s Look at Me, and Pegasus turned out to be Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith, who sang Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’ from Oklahoma!

Before Prue’s big reveal, the panel shared their guesses: Mo thought Jane Seymour OBE, Davina guessed Elizabeth McGovern, Vicky suggested Clare Balding, Jonathan believed it was Prue Leith and Maya proposed Joanna Lumley. However, it turned out that Jonathan was the judge who was correct, as Prue was the one donning the mythical creature costume.

After Prue’s unmasking, fans took to X to share their thoughts, with comments like: “#maskedsingeruk probably the easiest one ever!” Others echoed the sentiment: “Yes it was prue a judge from bake off #MaskedSingerUK.” Some celebrated their successful guesswork: “I knew it! PRUE LEITH. I got one right!!” Another viewer also expressed their triumph: “Got it right.”
